The “9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Although I have performed at many Charismatic Churches, the focus tends to be "speaking in tongues".  I have heard people chant, and although I don't know of any language that has a word "la la la la la la..." or "dah, dah, dah, dah..." (which I hear all the time), I respect their virtues, but *I* don't claim to have (or want to have) this gift.  I have been given whatever gift(s) God wants me to have, and although people tell me I have "The Gift of Prophesy", it is only "wisdom" of 66 years of experience, and history repeats itself.  It's easy to predict "a child out of wedlock" - when you see 2 teens getting "frisky".

So, although it's clear that I have been gifted "the gift of music", and "the gift of comedy", these are the Bible gifts, as listed:
1.  The Word of Knowledge
2.  The Word of Wisdom
3.  The Gift of Prophecy
4.  The Gift of Faith
5.  The Gifts of Healings
6.  The Working of Miracles
7.  The Discerning of Spirits
8.  Unknown languages ("tongues") (1 Cor 14:22)
9.  The Interpretation of unknown languages (Must be utilized with the above)
10. (MY ADDITION would be) The gift of Rebuking (1 Timothy 5:20, Luke 17:3, Titus 1:13, Proverbs  9:8)

My actual spiritual gift is the gift of phophesy - see below...

Although many Christians are firm in their belief: "These are NOT church building, not money, power or accountability.  These gifts were Apocalyptic (during the Apostles) - before The Canon (The Bible)."  Again, I will respect that, but I don't know.  I just use my gift for God.  Going forward...

Even Satan took 3 gifts:
Wisdom
Music
Beauty

Paul suggests that, "as the last of the apostles," there were no more apostles of Christ after him (1 Cor 4:9; 15:8-11). It would seem that the gift of apostleship is no longer bestowed and with it no further addition to the New Testament Canon.

Prophesy (in general) "Prophesy" means: you are speaking on behalf of God. You are speaking the will of God, or the Word of God, even the MIND of God; the perspective of God.  This does NOT mean to "predict the future".
The Greek word  προφητεύω  (prophēteśō [from pró, "before" and phēmķ, "assert by elevating one statement over another"]) - incorrectly translated “prophesying” or “prophecy” in both passages - properly means to “proclaim" or "speak forth” or "to declare the divine will, to interpret the purposes of God", or "to make known in any way the truth of God" or "to assert by elevating one statement over another".
Prophesy - can the Bible foresee future events?
Many wonder if the Bible predicts the future. The answer is yes.

Isaiah 46:9
(KJV) "Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,"
זִכְר֥וּ רִאשֹׁנֹ֖ות מֵעֹולָ֑ם אֵל֙ וְאֵ֣ין עֹ֔וד אֱלֹהִ֖ים וְאֶ֥פֶס כָּמֹֽונִי׃
Literally translates to: "remember         former     long duration: antiquity/futurity        God       nothing       continuance     God     ceasing      like/as"

Isaiah 46:10
(KJV) "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure"
מַגִּ֤יד אַחֲרִ֔ית מֵֽרֵאשִׁית֙ וּמִקֶּ֖דֶם אֲשֶׁ֣ר נַעֲשׂ֑וּ אֹמֵר֙ עֲצָתִ֣י תָק֔וּם אֶעֱשֶֽׂה׃ וְכָל־ חֶפְצִ֖י
Literally translates to: "to be conspicuous          the after/end      beginning      front/east     who/which      to do/make       to say     counsel/advice      to arise/stand up     to do/make      the whole      delight"

The Gift of Prophesy:
One of the things I get asked ALL THE TIME - is "OK,  tell me when Christ will return" - I just chuckle and say "Matthew 24:36: No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son.  So you are wanting ME to "out-predict" God/Jesus themselves."

Many people misunderstand the gift of prophecy to be the ability to predict the future. While knowing something about the future may sometimes have been an aspect of the gift of prophecy, it was primarily a gift of proclamation (“forth-telling”), not prediction (“fore-telling”).  A pastor/preacher who declares the Bible can be considered a “prophesier” in that he is speaking forth the counsel of God. With the completion of the New Testament Canon, prophesying changed from declaring new revelation to declaring the completed revelation God has already given.  A pastor/preacher who declares the Bible can be considered a “prophesier” in that he is speaking forth the counsel of God.  Keep in mind, The Bible (called "the ultimate prophesier" by Christians) - tells no dates about any events ... even the Rapture or Coming of Christ #2!  Yet Christians expect someone with the gift - to "out-do" The Bible???   REALLY, People???

Speaking of "counsel",
Psalm 1:1
"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful."
אַ֥שְֽׁרֵי־ הָאִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֤ר     הָלַךְ֮ בַּעֲצַ֪ת בַּעֲצַ֪ת רְשָׁ֫עִ֥ים לֹ֥א עָמָ֑ד וּבְדֶ֣רֶךְ חַ֭טָּאִים לֹ֥א יָשָֽׁב׃ וּבְמֹושַׁ֥ב
Pronounced "esher  ha·'ish  a·sher  ha·lach  ba·'a·tzat  re·sha·'im  lo  a·mad  u·ve·de·rech  chat·ta·'im  lo  ya·shav  u·ve·mo·v·shav"
Literally means: "happiness     the man     who     to come/to go     advice     wicked/criminal     not     to take a stand     way/road     ninful     not     to sit/remailn     assembly/dweller"
Yes, "scoffers" was added, and "the man" actually means "the man", not "humans".

Paul adds in 1 Corinthians 12:30 - "Do we all have the gift of healings, unknown languages, interpretation, prophesy?  Of course not!"
(it is actually πάντες ἔχουσιν χαρίσματα ἰαμάτων πάντες λαλοῦσιν γλώσσαις πάντες διερμηνεύουσιν)
LITERAL meaning: "all    to have    a gift of  grace      a healing    all    to talk      the tongue      all       to explain thoroughly")
IMPORTANT NOTE about "prophesy": The spiritual gift of prophecy is listed among the gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12:10 and Romans 12:6.

"The person who prophesies - speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement, and consolidation."
1 Corinthians 14:3
(It's actually: προφητεύων λαλεὶ ἀνθρώποις οἰκοδομὴν παράκλησιν παραμυθίαν
[pronounced "prophēteuōn lalei anthrōpois oikodomēn paraklēsin paramuthian"]
(literally translates to:  to foretell, tell forth, prophesy        to talk       a human     building up       a calling to one's aid/comfort       encouragement, exhortation, comfort)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PvWd1AswfA&t=474s

1 Corinthians 14:4
One who speaks in a tongue - edifies himself; one who prophesies - edifies The Church.

Although the entire verse is: λαλῶν γλώσσῃ οἰκοδομεῖ οἰκοδομεῖ ἑαυτὸν προφητεύων οἰκοδομεῖ ἐκκλησίαν
This literally means: “to talk      the tongue/a language      to build a house"
The last 2 words are actually: οἰκοδομεῖ ἑαυτὸν - meaning “to build a house” - NOT “edifies”, and “an assembly” - NOT “the church”. The Greek word for church is ἐκκλησίαν (pronounced "ek-klay-see’-ah”) - again, meaning "an assembly”. Apos Paul is basically saying an 14:4
"I would rather you EDIFY others, and speak in a language that others CAN UNDERSTAND - when at Church ... because that is going to be to a much greater benefit - than speaking non-understandable words.  Speaking in tongues will NOT HELP ANYONE - especially if there is no interpreter (which is made CLEAR in 1 Corinthians).

Tongues

Here's one of my foretelling:
(2019) Trans (men) will be allowed in the girl's locker rooms, and they will devastate girl's sports, causing bodily harm and broken bones. But they will get away with it...   (2023 - I was correct!).  But I remember back then, people mocking me with "oh, that will NEVER happen!"  (they were wrong, but will never apologize or even admit it.)
It's as if the Left forget their promise to "protect women's rights", yet they allow this to happen!!
It will take a death ... but they won't change it .... they will make excuses (as they have recently - in allowing Grades K-4 watch porn (!!!)  They justify it, yet they divorce their husband for doing the same thing (!!!)).  Then another death (repeat)!!   (2023 - I was right again!!)

The *only* thing that will change anything - is when a Politician's daughter gets killed by a Trans.  Watch "Million Dollar Baby", and see the future.

Me?  I can't wait until bionics are put into women - or even a robot - and they crush trans guys  ..... then they will cry and complain.  Typical psychopaths - it's always ok when the opponent dies, but if *you* even get *beat* ... oh, it's cry time.  And play the "victim" card.   We'll see if I am around to see my prophesy fulfilled.

Prophecies from God can cover an extremely wide range of situations and issues, covering everything from predicting future events like they use to do in the OT, to giving someone counsel, encouragement, confirmation, instruction, and possible correction when it may be needed.

Also, all prophecy needs to be properly tested, as the Bible tells us that there will always be false prophets walking among us, along with the possibility of well-meaning believers prophesying out of their own imaginations. Here is the verse giving us this direct warning:

“Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19-21) [correctly: Thessalonians A. See the correct pronunciation here]

All prophecy always needs to line up with Scripture. If it does not, it should be immediately rejected. God will never go against His own Word when delivering a prophetic word to someone.

Again, any believer can have God manifest this gift through them at anytime that He will want to do so. You do not have to hold the actual office of a prophet in order for God to manifest this gift through you from time to time.

The Bible tells us that in the latter days God will be pouring out His Holy Spirit upon all flesh and when He does, it says our sons and daughters will be prophesying.

1 Corinthians 14:33
"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
The original Koine greek: θεὸς ἀκαταστασίας εἰρήνης πάσαις ἐκκλησίαις ἁγίων
Literally means: "God     instability/commotion/confusion     one/quietness/rest/peace     all/every     an assembly     sacred/pure"
So, the "For" and "is not [a God] of" were added, and "confusion" is the wrong translation - the correct is from the Greek word "akatastatos" - meaning "instability".  Next "but of peace" is not even there.  The Greek word "eirēnēs" has _no known meaning_ .  Translators *guessed* at "peace".  Lastly, "of the Saints" is wrong - it's "assemblies sacred/pure".

OK, the other gifts:
Not only does the Bible tell us that these 9 gifts of the Spirit are available to all believers, but then it takes it one step further and tells us that we can actually try and stir these 9 gifts up with God. Here are 5 very good verses telling us to not only desire spiritual gifts, but to also not be afraid to try and stir these gifts up with God:

1. “Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:39)  [see the correct pronunciation here]
Is actually: στε ἀδελφοί ζηλοῦτε προφητεύειν κωλύετε λαλεῖν γλώσσαις
LITERAL: So as to       a brother      to be jealous     to forthtell/foretell     to hinder        to talk      a language/your tongue
(KJV) Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.
(NASB) Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.
This could EASILY be interpreted "desire spiritual gifts more than tongues", although it is literally "be jealous to forthtell hinder speak  your tongue in your mouth."

2. “… and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:1)  [see the correct pronunciation here] - - or the KJV: "Earnestly pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy."
Is actually:
Διώκετε ἀγάπην δὲ ζηλοῦτε πνευματικά μᾶλλον προφητεύητε
LITERAL: To put to flight/to persecute        love/goodwill       but       to be jealous      spiritual       more       to forthtell/foretell
(KJV) Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
(NASB) Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual [gifts] that you may prophesy.

Not to be confused with: 1 Corinthians 1:14
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius
εὐχαριστῶ ἐβάπτισα οὐδένα Κρίσπον Γάϊον
Literally means "to be thankful    ["God" was added - it would have been "Theos"]       to dip/sink     no one/none     "krispon", a Christian in Corinth     "gaion".
If you remove the names, it woud be "to be thankful     to dip/sink     no one/none"
See more on baptism here...

3. “Do not quench the Spirit, do not despise prophecies.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19)  [see the correct pronunciation here]
Is actually: παραδέχου κατηγορίαν κατὰ πρεσβυτέρου ἐκτὸς ἐπὶ δύο ἢ τριῶν μαρτύρων
LITERAL: To receive       an accusation        down      elder        the exterior       on/upon        two         or      three      a witness
(KJV) Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses.
(NASB) Do not receive an accusation against an elder except on the basis of two or three witnesses.

4. “Do not neglect the gift that is in you … Meditate on these things, give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.” (1 Timothy 4:14)  [see the correct pronunciation here]
Is actually: ἀμέλει χαρίσματος ἐν ὃ ἐδόθη διὰ προφητείας ἐπιθέσεως χειρῶν πρεσβυτερίου
LITERAL: To be careless      a gift        in/on       who        to give      through/on account of      a laying on/an assault      the hand       a body of elders
(KJV) Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.
(NASB) Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying of hands by the presbytery

5. “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” (2 Timothy 1:6)  [see the correct pronunciation here]
Is actually: ἣν αἰτίαν ἀναμιμνῄσκω ἀναζωπυρεῖν χάρισμα θεοῦ ὅ δι’ ἐπιθέσεως χειρῶν
LITERAL: Who      cause/reasons      to remind       to kindle afresh       a gift of grace   God       who         through/because of        a laying on/an assault      the hand
(KJV) Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
(NASB) For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the saying of my hands

As such, every believer should go to God in prayer and ask Him to release these 9 gifts through them anytime that He will want to do so.
Let God know that you will be a willing vessel for the manifestations of these gifts, and that you will give Him a full and solid green light to manifest these gifts though you at anytime that He will want to do so. These 9 gifts are a tremendous help and aid to not only you in your own personal walk with God, but many of them can be also used to help other people out as special needs and circumstances arise in their lives.

Notice the very first line in this verse says that these 9 gifts are given to each one for the “profit of all.”  The act of a speaker addressing the congregation with a prepared speech is referred to as "prophesying." The speaker "prophesies" to the congregation when he follows the proper guidelines laid down by Paul and the church. Beyond this, as we saw in verse 39, God wants all church members to prophesy. From the context of chapter 14, when we speak to each other according to the guidelines given, we are "prophesying" to each other. As we continue, we will see how this works in more detail.

Bible Translations

The Word of Knowledge is simply the Holy Spirit transmitting God's specific knowledge to you on something that you would have no ability or means to be able to know about with your own limited intelligence and knowledge levels.

It is supernatural knowledge and insight being given directly to you by the Holy Spirit, not by your own mind or your own intelligence levels.

Here are some specific examples of where you can receive a direct word of knowledge from the Holy Spirit covering just about anything and everything in your daily life:

How to solve a math problem at school if you are a student.
How to solve a specific problem at your place of employment.
Where you may have misplaced your car keys at.
Knowledge on what a certain Scripture verse may mean and how it can apply to your own personal life.
How to properly witness to an unsaved family member.
How to solve a marital dispute.
How to start up a new business.
Where to look for that next new job if you have just been laid off.
Who God wants you to marry in this life.
How to counsel someone who has just had an impending tragedy hit them full force.
What your specific calling in God is going to be in this life.
Word of knowledge that God wants to heal someone of a specific illness.

As you can see from these kinds of examples, there is literally nothing that the Holy Spirit cannot get into in your own personal life where He can then give you a word of knowledge on how to properly handle something that you are currently dealing with, or give you a word of knowledge to help someone else out with what they may be dealing with on their end.

This is why we all need words of wisdom from the Holy Spirit in our daily life, so we will know how to handle more complex types of problems or issues that can occur at a moment’s notice in our daily lives.

Here are some specific examples where we could receive words of wisdom direct from the Holy Spirit:
As you can see, there are literally an infinite number of possibilities where you will need God’s wisdom to get you safely though the problem or dilemma you are now having to face.

Bible Translations

The gift of Faith:
The Bible tells us that we all have a certain measure of faith that has already been given to us by God. God has to give each person a certain measure of faith or we would not be able to get saved, as the Bible tells us that we are saved by “faith” through grace.

And then over the course of our walks with God, our faith will continue to grow to higher levels as we continue to draw closer to God in our own personal relationship with Him and increase our knowledge levels about Him through the study of Scripture.

However, there will be times that our own levels of faith in God will not be enough to get the job done with what He may be asking us to do for Him. Here is an example:

Say God has been manifesting the gift of healing through you from time to time to heal a few minor ailments or illnesses on a few people.

Your confidence and faith levels are then starting to build up because God is now starting to use you in this manner and you now have had a few good successes on these smaller illnesses.

But then all of a sudden God tells you to walk up to a paraplegic, lay hands on him, and then command him to get out of his wheelchair and start walking.

All of a sudden you can immediately sense in your mind and in your spirit that your own levels of faith are not going to be good enough or high enough to try and do this, as you have never tried to heal someone of something this heavy before.

And this is where the Holy Spirit will now be moving in big time so this miracle can be fully accomplished for God.

The Holy Spirit will then manifest it's own divine faith right up into you so you can now believe and operate on that faith - so you will now have the actual courage to walk up to this person, lay hands on him, and then tell him to get out of that wheelchair and start walking.

Sometimes it will take higher levels of faith to pull down a major miracle from God, and where our faith levels will not be high enough or good enough to be able to do this, this is where the direct faith of the Holy Spirit will then move up in us and pick up the slack with our own imperfect faith levels so God can then manifest the miracle that will be looking to do through us.

Sometimes God may ask you to do something that will be out of your comfort zone. Fear and panic will immediately set in because you have never done what God is now asking you to do.

If and when this should ever happen to you, just ask the Holy Spirit to manifest faith, courage, and boldness up in you so you will have faith, strength, and courage to do what God is asking you to do.

This particular gift could be a lifesaver, depending on what God may be asking you to do. If God is asking you to go into a burning building to rescue a child, there will be a very good chance that the Holy Spirit will immediately manifest faith and courage right up in you so you can take on this dangerous assignment.

Firemen, policemen, and our military especially need this particular gift to help them do heroic acts, as many of them could easily let fear and panic set in on them, which would then keep them from being able to perform a major rescue operation.

Again, there are just a wide variety of situations and circumstances where you will need this gift to be manifested up in you by the Holy Spirit. That is why the Holy Spirit is called the Helper in the Bible, so it can help you with a lot of different areas in your daily life where you will have trouble in dealing with.

Back to The Gifts list...

The gift of healings
1 Corinthians 12:9
ἰαμάτων
(pronounced "iamatōn")
Literally means "a healing"

Also, the "working of miracles" in 1 Corinthians 12:10.
One of the things that Jesus is wanting all of us to do for Him to is pray for the sick.  And if we do, then many of the times they will “recover,” which means that He is going to heal them. So it should come as no surprise that we have the gift of healing as one of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.

What this means is that at anytime the Holy Spirit can manifest this special gift through any believer so He can then heal someone of any kind of disease, illness, or sickness.  You do not have to have the gift of healing as any kind of a full time ministry to be able to have the Holy Spirit do this through you. Again, this can literally happen to any single believer at anytime with God.  As such, this is another gift that you will definitely want to try and stir up with God, because there are just so many people who need some kind of healing due to the fact that we still have to deal with all kinds of diseases, sicknesses, and illnesses on a regular basis as a result of the Adamic curse that is still in full operation on this earth.

Not only can the Holy Spirit directly heal you with your own personal prayers to God, but He can also use you as an anointed vessel to manifest His healing power through to help heal someone else – if you will only have the courage to speak out what He wants you to say to that person, and then lay hands on that person for the healing power to be transmitted into their body to the affected body part that will need the healing.

Also notice that the wording being used in this verse is that this is the “gifts” of healing. The word “gifts” is plural, which means there are different kinds of healings will want to do.  What people who walk with this kind of anointing on a regular basis have found out is that some people will be more gifted and anointed in some areas than they will be in other areas.  For instance, some people may have more success with healing bad back cases, where another may have a stronger anointing to heal cancer cases. In other words, God will sometimes specialize on the kinds of healings He will want to do through an individual believer.

Your part is to just tell God that you would like to have a big part in this special gift, and then let Him decide as to how He will want to use you in this area and what areas you will be stronger in than other areas.

Laying of hands is symbolic. There is no transference of spirits.
People were healed with and without the laying of hands.  People received the Spirit with and without the laying of hands.
Laying of hands was used symbolically to appoint persons to the ministry.

How do you know you're baptised in The Holy Spirit? - By Zac Poonen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfzXAlcJsck

There are many New Testament examples of Jesus and the apostles laying hands on people for healing. Actually the fact that people requested Jesus to lay hands on them suggested that this was the traditionally accepted means of imparting healing. But does that apply to us today? The disputed Mark 16:18 states that all believers could lay hands on the sick for healing.

In Acts 13:3 Paul and Barnabas were commissioned by prophecy and the laying on of hands. Paul called it the right hand of fellowship (Gal. 2:9). It was a sanction of approval. Through the laying of hands Timothy received “the gift”. This most likely refers to one of the gifts of the Spirit associated with his calling. Comparing 1 Tim. 1:18; 4:14 and 2 Tim. 1:6, Timothy received the gift by prophesy and the laying on the Paul’s hands. Later on the elders also laid hands on him.
More Acts of the Apostles

There was no transfer from Paul to Timothy since God gives gifts as God pleases (1 Cor. 12:11).

Transference of spirits?
Now let us examine whether there is a scriptural precedent for the concept of “impartation” – where the Holy Spirit or the anointing is transferred from one person to another. Some people claim it is like a dead battery being charged by a live one. To reinforce this belief, it is observed that when hands are laid on people, some people jump, oscillate, vibrate, buckle, fall and roll. So they this confirms to them that something was transferred. Let’s look at what the Bible teaches.

Healing?  Perhaps Yeshua used chiropractic, reflexology - in his healings.

The Working of Miracles 1 Corinthians 12:10
is:
ἐνεργήματα δυνάμεων
(energēmata dunameōn")
Literally means "an effect/operation       power/might/strength"

Some of the different Bible Dictionaries describe the word miracle as the following:

Good examples of actual miracles from the Bible are the following:
If you study the Bible very carefully from start to finish, it is literally one miracle after another with both God the Father and Jesus Christ. Our God is a miracle-working God and He still loves to do them for His people.

The Bible says that God does not change, and if both Him and Jesus were constantly doing miracles in both the OT and NT, then God will also be wanting to do miracles in our day and age.  And with this specific gift being listed as one of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit, then you know that God is trying to tell all of us that He still wants to do them, even in the jaded and skeptical times that we are now currently living in.

Again, do not be afraid of this heavy gift from God, and do not quench the Holy Spirit with any lack of faith or belief if He ever wants to try and do one for either you, or for any other people you may be working with.

The Discerning of Spirits

This next gift is one that is really needed in the dangerous and perilous times that we are now living in.  In English translations, the first thing to notice about this gift is that the “s” in the word “spirits” is with a small “s.”   But I go by the _original_ - and no, there is no “s” - the word is (1 Corinthians 12:10)  πνευμάτων  (pronounced “pneumatōn”) - which means “wind/breath/air”.  You may know about “pneumatic tools” or “pneumatic jacks” … yes, they use AIR.  “Hydro” means “water or liquid”, so “hydraulic jack” is when they have a liquid in them.

The English continues with: This means that it is not referring to the Holy Spirit. The only other spirits that are out there that this gift is referring to are the following three kinds of spirits:
  • Demonic spirits
  • God’s angels
  • Human spirits

What happens in this gift is that the Holy Spirit will give you supernatural discernment, insight, and knowledge involving these three kinds of spirits. Many of the times, this gift will be be used to fully expose what is really going on and operating behind the scenes with someone.

Here is how this gift will come into play with each one of these kinds of spirits.
A) Demonic Spirits – with demonic spirits still being allowed to roam in the air and interact with us to some degree in this life, we really need this gift in full operation today just to handle this one type of bad evil spirit. As you know, many times demons can literally enter into a person’s body if they have the appropriate legal rights to be able to do so. But once they are in someone’s body, they will then try and hide and not show themselves.

Since some demons are very good at hiding on the inside of someone once they enter in, God needs to activate this gift through some of His own so they can detect when a demon is on the inside of someone and expose its presence. Once the demon has been exposed, then you can set the person up for a deliverance. But the first thing to be able to do is to discern and detect that the demons are already on the inside of that person in the first place.

There are several ways that this type of discernment can work in this realm.
First, the people who have this gift in operation from the Holy Spirit will sometimes be able to “see” the demons manifest through a person’s eyes. Sometimes the demons just cannot help themselves and they sometimes will rise up and show themselves through a person’s eyes. They will literally be looking directly at you through this person’s eyes.

When you see this kind of a manifestation happen, what you will see is pure hate and pure evil looking at you. You will be able to tell that this is not the person they are residing in. This kind of a look can also be caught on camera quite a bit, as demons sometimes like to show themselves when that person is getting their picture taken.

Again, you do need this gift of discerning of spirits from the Holy Spirit to be able to see this when it happens, but it is very easily seen by the people who do have this gift in full operation from the Holy Spirit.

Another way that the Holy Spirit will help you discern and sense demons in someone is through either a sense of smell or a sense of feeling. Some people will get a real sick feeling in their stomach, like they want to vomit when they either see or get around someone who has a demon on the inside of them. You may not be able to see them in the person’s eyes when they do come up and manifest, or feel them or smell them, but you can get a strong inner knowing or a strong sensing from the Holy Spirit that this person does have demons on the inside of them.

B) God’s Angels – The Bible tells us that God’s angels are also spirit beings. They are ministering spirits.
Throughout history God’s angels have appeared to people many times. The Bible is full of these kinds of stories from the Virgin Mary, to Daniel, to the apostle John in the Book of Revelation. However, the Bible also warns us that Satan and his demons can appear to us as angels of light. As a result, you will need proper discernment from the Holy Spirit if an angel were to ever appear to you.

islamThe false religions of Islam and Mormonism are two perfect examples of demons appearing as angels of light to the two people who started these two false religions. If those two people would have known how to properly test a spirit appearing to them, those two demon angels could have easily been stopped dead in their tracks and those two false religions could have easily been prevented from ever having started up.

If an angel were all of a sudden to ever appear to you, the first thing you will need to do is properly test it out. 1 John tells us exactly how to do this. Here is the verse:
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, BUT TEST THE SPIRITS, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.
And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” (1 John 4:1-4)
What this means is that you directly ask the angel to identify who his Lord and Master is. He better say that it is Jesus Christ. Then you ask him to confess to you that Jesus Christ has come to our earth in the flesh.

If the angel cannot make this direct confession to you that Jesus Christ has already come to our earth in the flesh, then you are dealing with a real, live, demonic spirit masquerading as an angel of light. At this point, you should command the demon to now leave you in the name of Jesus Christ.

In addition to the above test, you could also receive a strong discerning of spirits direct from the Holy Spirit. You will immediately sense that something is not right with this angel, and you will then pick up with a strong inner knowing that this is not an angel from God.  If it is an angel from God, you should feel a sense of peace and comfort coming in from the Holy Spirit, as He should be bearing witness that this is one of God’s angels.

Remember the joke: Islam is a religion of PEACE.  Yeah, a PIECE of you over there; a PIECE of you here...

C) Human Spirits – in addition to angels and demonic spirits, the third kind of spirit this gift is referring to is just our own human spirits. For instance, someone could have a bad spirit of pride on them. It will not be a demonic spirit giving this person this kind of bad pride, it will just be his own natural spirit, as we are all totally capable of having bad kinds of spirits build up in our systems without the help of any kind of demonic spirits, since we have already been born into this world as corrupt sinners.

Where this gift will really come into play is on discerning some of the real bad apples that are out there, especially those of the criminal type such as money Scammers.

Pedophiles (such as Bill Clinton, Epstein, the EVIL Bill Gates [web link], George Bush, Joe B-b-b-b-Biden) are especially good at seducing some of the family members so they can then work themselves into getting closer to some of their younger children. That is why parents especially have to keep a sharp eye on any new people who come into their immediate circle of influence. Also, Madonna is a pedophile:

Those who say "Tom Brady has such a testimony!!", read HIS QUOTE:
Tom Brady is NOT a Christian

Now, if *I* said that same thing, I'd be run out of the Church.  But the rich, famous, good-looking guy ....   also, his wife freely admits to practicing Witchcraft.  Not only is this NOT Christian - it is SATANIC!!

A quick history lesson: If you ever lived in Greece during Emperor Nero's rule:  He dipped all Christians in oil, and set them on fire -  watched them burn, and used their burning carcasses to light his garden parties.  Or Vlad the Impaler:  he "impaled" children back into their mother.  He also "impaled" anyone who didn't agree with him - he had a wood or metal rod shoved up their rectum - straight out their oral cavity (mouth).  He took great pleasure watching them bleed out after the screams.

Now, you *may* be thinking "the Settlers exploited those "peaceful Natives".  If so, you are dead wrong.  Michael Knowles (PhD in History from Yale)  has a complete slide show (and a series) on how the Natives massacred the Clovis People before them.  We all know they massacred each other (how "loving" and "gentle"!) with "war parties".  Oh, and the Mexicans:  massacred the Inca Indians before them.  Oh, and the Hawaiians:  the Samoans massacred the original People of Hawaii.  Did I mention the slave trade - performed by Africans?   By the way, *all* of the above genocides and massacres were by people "of Color".  Now, let's go to Islam (people of colour): Muslims killed _all_ Jews in Jerusalem, and killed _all_ Christians and Jews in Constantinople (now Istanbul), and invaded Lithuania - and were  fought back by the mostly Christian Country.  That's only 3 of them.  I have 6 books on more of Muslim attacks and massacres.

Note: the Samoans genocided the original Hawaiians - read about that here.  Read much more on my "racism" page.

Charismatics / Tongues

The gift of unknown languages ("tongues") is simply the Holy Spirit giving you the supernatural ability to speak in a foreign tongue that you have no knowledge or ability to speak out on your own. There are two types of tongues He can give you: One is a tongue of this earth. For instance, if your native language is English, then He can give you the ability to speak in Chinese, Japanese, or Spanish. The other type of tongue that He can give you is a tongue direct from heaven, a heavenly language that is not of this earth. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 that there are “tongues of angels.”

But in either event, it will be a foreign language that you will not be able to speak out on your own, and only the Holy Spirit’s supernatural transmission of this language out of your spirit will give you the ability to be able to speak this language out. And whatever tongue the Holy Spirit will give you, you will be able to use it 24/7, whenever you want. It will be your own personal, private, prayer language between you and God.  This is not meant to "show off" at Church - making people think you are more holy than you are.  The only problem with this gift is that for the most part, you will never know or understand what you are praying about when you go into this gift. The Bible tells us that we will be speaking out “mysteries,” and only God the Father and the Holy Spirit will be knowing exactly what the prayer will be about on any given occasion when you are actually doing it.

Now here are some additional verses on the gift of tongues:
--  “For he who speaks in an unknown language does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” (1 Corinthians 14:2)
--  “I wish you all spoke with unknown language, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with unknown language, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.” ( 1 Corinthians 14:5)
--  “Therefore let him who speaks in an unknown language pray that he may interpret. For if I pray an unknown language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.” (1 Corinthians 14:13-14)
--  “Though I speak with an unknown language of men and angels, but if  I don't have love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” (1 Corinthians 13:1)
--  “Therefore unknown languages are for a sign, not toward those who believe - but spoken to unbelievers…” (1 Corinthians 14:22)
--  “Therefore, brethren [Believers / all members of the Church], covet [desire earnestly] to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with unknown languages. Let all things be done decently and in order.” (1 Corinthians 14:39-40)

Notice in the 3rd verse that Paul is telling you that you pray to interpret your own unknown language so you can understand what you are praying about, which will lead us right into the next gift, the interpretation of unknown languages. Also notice that when you are praying in your unknown language, that you are praying out of your spirit, not out of your mind.

Some people call I Corinthians 14 "The Tongues [unknown language] Chapter." While it is certainly about speaking in unknown languages, the basic theme of Paul's instruction is that God wants everyone in attendance to understand clearly the messages given in church services. It is the teaching that is of greatest importance. Anyone speaking in an unknown language, or anyone interrupting a speaker's message with an outburst of loud gibberish creates disorder and confusion.

In addition, "speaking in an unknown language" correctly refers, not to uttering some sort of "angel's language," but to speaking in a real, understandable, yet foreign language. If a speaker uses a different language, an interpreter must be present to translate so that all can understand (see verses 9-11, 27). Verse 28 states: "But if there is no interpreter, let him [the speaker] keep silent in the church, and let him speak to himself and to God."

Paul gives other guidelines for speakers addressing the congregation in services. The number of speakers, the attitude of the speaker, the content of the message, and the purpose of the message—all should meet certain criteria. As mentioned before, the instruction is paramount.

NOTE:
Those who think ‘tongues’ means an ‘angelic’ or ‘heavenly’ language known only to God, isn't this "man reaching up to God"? Instead of God reaching to us.

Zac Poonen - There are many gifts aside from "tongues":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzY7kgkQ28M

Acts 2:3
(KJ) "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them."
γλῶσσαι πυρὸς διαμεριζόμεναι ἐκάθισεν ἕκαστον ἕνα
"And there appeared to them" was added.  It literally translates to "a language/a tongue       fire       to divide      to sit down     every      one"
NOTE:  "as of" was added - no, it's fire, not "as of fire". They also added "cloven".

Mark 16:17
(KJV) "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues"
σημεῖα ταῦτα τοῖς πιστεύσασιν ὀνόματι ἐκβαλοῦσιν δαιμόνια λαλήσουσιν γλώσσαις
Literally: ["these" was added]  "a sign      to follow/to investigate       the      to believe/entrust       a name/authority      to expel       an evil spirit, ie: a demon      to talk     ["with new" was added]     the tongue"

Charismatics believe strongly that every true believer is baptized with the Holy Spirit. They believe the evidence for this goes back to the beginning when 120 disciples were filled with the Spirit on the day of Pentecost. They point to the opening of Acts 2 where the Bible says that “they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4). They teach that the pronoun “they” refers to the 120 disciples mentioned in Acts 1:15. But, the passage does not say that.

NOTE: the pronouns were NOT THERE!!

Acts 1:15
(KJV) "the midst of the disciples, and said, the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty)
... ὄχλος ὡς ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ὀνομάτων ἐπὶ
Meaning: "a crowd/multitude/common people [ NOT "Disciples"]     as if/as it were/like     100     20     name/character/reputation     on/upon"

NOTE: it's not "about" - the Greek numbers are specifically 100   20.

Acts 1:11
"Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."
καὶ εἰπαν ἄνδρες Γαλιλαῖοι τί ἑστήκατε οὐρανὸν οὗτος Ἰησοῦς ἀναλημφθεὶς οὐρανόν ἐλεύσεται οὕτως τρόπον ἐθεάσασθε πορευόμενον οὐρανόν
"and/also     to say     a man     Galilean     who/which     to make a stand     heaven     this     Yeshua     to take up/raise     heaven     to come/to go     in this way     a manner/fashion     to look upon     to go     heaven"

Acts 2:4
(KJV) "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
πάντες ἁγίου πνεύματος λαλεῖν ἑτέραις γλώσσαις πνεῦμα ἐδίδου ἀποφθέγγεσθαι
Meaning: "all/every     sacred     wind/breath     to talk     other     the tongue/a language     to give/to grant/to bestow     to speak out/declare"
NOTE:  "they" is not even there  - it is "all/every".  "Filled" is NOT THERE.

Some even cite:
Acts 1:26
(ESV) "And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles."
ἔδωκαν κλήρους κλῆρος ἔπεσεν συγκατεψηφίσθη ἕνδεκα ἀποστόλων
Meaning: "to give     a lot     a lot     to fall     to count together with/to vote with/ to be numbered with     11     a messenger/delegate/one who is sent forth"
NOTE:  "they" is not even in there; "Matthias" WAS ADDED, and "he" was added.

‘Tongues’ appears 36 times in the 1611 KJV; ‘tongue’ appears 129 times. In every case the word has a specific meaning, supported by the actual meanings in Greek.  I have listened to many ‘heavenly language’ clips. If they speak like that in Heaven there must be a lot of confusion and very brief discussions! In many cases all you hear are continuous sounds, repeated continuously, such as ‘lah-lah-lah-lalah’ and 'da da da da da da da' so on. Any intelligent being would thereby conclude that very little is being said, or, that what was being said made no sense. We can seriously doubt if God is prompting men and women to stand there repeating the same words ad nauseum! Apart from any other consideration, if God is actually telling you to speak, He will not cause you to be so infantile, or with such fruitless repetition which would compromise His image as a God Who uses words economically; that is, He does not waste His words but is always to the point.  The point of 1 Corinthians is LOVE:

1 Corinthians 13:1 states (in original Greek):
"If to talk the language  a human  a messenger / an angel  to have    love    to come into being to make a loud noise   copper or bronze  or    to raise a war cry a cymbal"
We have added to it to become: "If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or clanging cymbal."

Tongues

DISCLAIMER: With "tongues", 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 clearly states:
"if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.”
Now, the original Greek has no "him" in it - it is:
27
εἴτε τις λαλεῖ γλώσσῃ δύο ἢ τρεῖς μέρος εἷς διερμηνευέτω
Literally meaning: "if    anyone      to talk       the tongue/a language        two      or/than       three        a part/share       one      to explain thoroughly"

28
ἐὰν μὴ διερμηνευτής σιγάτω ἐκκλησίᾳ λαλείτω ἑαυτῷ θεῷ
Literally meaning: "if      not/lest        an explainer         to keep silent/to keep secret         an assembly (congregation)        to talk       of one's self        God"

Ok, Here are some [mis] translations, but not popular .... but to give you examples of how translators did them incorrectly:
2 Kings 7:2  (I call it "Two Kings", but it's actually "Melakhim 2". See the other books of Kings...)
Deuteronomy 32:22
Genesis 30:1
Proverbs 19:16

The Interpretation of unknown languages:
This next gift is where the Holy Spirit will give you the interpretation of the unknown language that you have either done for yourself or when they are being done by someone else in a church setting - or alone in your bedroom/den. Here are the two main verses telling you where the gift of interpretation will come into play with the gift of tongues:

“If anyone speaks in an unknown language, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.” (1 Corinthians 14: 27-28)
“Let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.” (1 Corinthians 14:13-14)

Again, another very powerful gift that you can ask to receive from God if you would like to tread into these kinds of deeper waters with Him.
