Church Musician or Pastor

My favourite quotes:
Don't let your spirituality
Get in the way of God's reality
- Phil Chapman (me)

Get right .... or get LEFT!
- Auther unknown

Don't be so heavenly bound -
That you are of no earthly good.

Churches are like Health Clubs -
You don't have to get into shape before you go.

Pastor PhilThis is dedicated to Elohim ("God The Creator" [Abba/Petros/The Father/God]) - who gives us life, and Isho (Yeshua ["Jesus"], God's monogene ["son"]), who gives us eternal life...

First, every morning, I start my day with the following ... I pray (out loud):
"Elohim, haser kel shadim o ro'a menukachuti, vehaka otem"  (That is Hebrew for the below)
"Deus, amove a me daemonia vel mala a facie mea, et tu illos percuti!"  (Latin ["Latinus" - pronounced"lah-TEEN-us"] - the earthly language of the Demons)
"Theo, dióxe káthe daímona í kakó apó tin parousía mou kai ka-pisté toos!"  (Greek ["Elliniki" - pronounced "eh-LYN-ih-key"]
And of course, in English: "God, remove any demons or evil from my presence, and strike them!"

I run The Lexicon Church on the line (ha ha], as well as play music and lead as a Teacher/Pastor (photo to the left) at 2 physical churches.

Once I get on stage, and get my flute (or sax) up,  all issues EVAPORATE.  I think "Elohim, zeb vish-vee-ha"  (God, this is for YOU.)

Hi, I'm Phil Chapman.  Here is my music (and beliefs) summary:
I am looking to play music / be Music Minister / Pastor - at a Church that believes in Salvation through Yeshua (Jesus / Christ). Although I enjoy Latin and Nigerian Churches because of their music, I play my heart out. And I Preach - based on the Lexicon Translation, from the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek - not the King James version.  Many interpretations have lost their context and sometimes their entire meaning - with that Shakespeare-era translation.  Comest thou, and seest mine many examples belowest (there are thousands more!).   To add, and in more detail on my "Translations" page, here is something that will "blow your mind" - since we have used the same Bible for 400 years, and without question.  See the books that were written, yet not included in the Canon (the "accepted" Bible).  *I*, however, reject that committee's decision to keep out those lost books, and as this page will show, I condemn their interpretation of the Canon (the accepted Bible - with books decided by said committee.)  For the "Canon" (the Bible we all have accepted), I use Lexicon - "the original word".  But first, to tell you about myself and my wife (we are hired as a team):

As a Citizen of Canada and the USA, both my wife and I (again, hired as a team) are able to work/relocate anywhere in (anti-Vaccine / mask locations) - and our goal - in Costa Rica, Panama or Mexico. I play (at a professional level) sax, flute, bass, guitar, keyboard (synths and piano), drums, vocals, clarinet, and percussion (chimes, shakers, claves, cabasa), and vocals.  I am able to go into any band/church, and play any instrument - by ear or by music.  I've played and/or performed with Mickey Joseph, Starship, Miami Sound Machine, Huey Lewis and the News, KC and the Sunshine Band, Peter Noone, The Drifters, Hank Williams Jr, The Beach Boys, George Jones.  I'm the guy who invented and holds the Trademark for "Pyro Sax" and "MC Squared" (and "Solar Flaire").

Although we trust that God will open (and close) doors for us, "faith without works is dead", so we are sending out feelers.
MusicianMy wife (who is shy, and doesn't like "the spotlight") is an Office Worker - proficient at phones, computer work ... anything.  We are “at your service” if you need our skills at your Church.  If not, we will plant our own, but we will always follow God’s lead.

θέλημα, ατος, τό  (Greek: theléma: God’s will be done)
תפלה בתשומת לב   (Hebrew: tefilah shema: pray "intently": pray on top of praying - on top of praying)
As I stated above, I prefer (and highly suggest) the Lexicon Translation. It doesn't "make sense" completely, but it is the closest to "the original text" as possible. Remember: verse numbers and even punctuation were added - a long time after (old Testament in 1448 - by a Rabbi, and the whole Bible in 1551 by Frenchman Robert Estienne). Man wasn't supposed to change, add, or delete anything in The Bible (from "Biblio", meaning "book"), but man did, and did not include many writings [Dead Sea scrolls] - and we all use those changes as our "go to" translations!  (How is that for irony!??) Also, most people do not know this, but King James (yes, the same egotistic King who had the Bible translated to old English) ran the Irish Slave trade.

Here's a sample - Genesis in Aramaic:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgp2lN_gM3E
This is how vastly different the translations are - to the original!

My own take on things:

People often ask me: "What are your credentials?  Where did you study?"
I kindly recite The One that you know so well:
He had no servants, yet they called Him Master.
He had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.
He had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.
He he had no army, yet kings feared Him.
He he won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.
He he committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

Pastor, musician, speakerAlso, I remind people asking - did Jesus go to Seminary? (A: no)  So, for you to "Go unto all the world and preach the gospel", do *you* need credentials? (no)   At huge, Ivy-league Universities (I audited at one, and my Brother actually attended Princeton and Harvard .... but now, they only teach "gender theory" and CRT.  They have all the credentials you could ask for, but are almost entirely Atheists (!!!)

So, no - the only credentials I have are God's Great Commission, my 67 years of experience, and a lifetime of study.  Here's a metaphor of my own observations (a parable, if you will):
A child and parents - painstakingly measure and correct - for a small, normal 40-liter salt water aquarium.  It takes WORK!  Lots of time, testing, and patience.  At Seaworld (4,000,000 liters) - it takes a TEAM of chemists -7 days a week - to keep the salinity correct. Yet - inlets and the Oceans - require ZERO chemists.  How does "nature" (God) keep the pH and salinity perfect??  The question is rhetorical - the same one (God) who keeps the planets in line and the satellites (moons) exactly around the planets.  Who keeps the protons together in the atoms, and the electrons obiting them?   Amazing, eh?  Or - do you REALLY believe it all happened "by chance". By the way, that particle from the "big bang" -- where did IT come from?  I'm waiting...

So, onward...
I have performed on Television numerous times, and have been featured in magazines and even local newspapers, parades, and given sermons at Churches. (see my referral on The Eagles' site:
http://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/eagles/eagleslp/linernotes.htm )
Associate PastorI presently play (or have played) various instruments at 4 Churches:  Christ Church Edmonton - a Nigerian Church (pictured to the right) called "RCCG Christ Chuch", MOVIM Church, Joshua's Church, sometimes at "Glow" Church - Rhema Chapel (Photos below), as well as "on call" at others.  I play mostly brass (sax, flute, clarinet), guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards, and vocals.  I play piano and pad sounds when I play the main keyboards, but when I play brass, I play string sounds, as well as "Rhodes", "DX7" and other "nostalgic" sounds (when appropriate).

Video of our Church service - you will NOT be bored!
https://youtu.be/XLjOWLX-T0U?t=5847

I have all professional equipment, and I know when to play, and when to "back off".  Unlike most "famous" performers, I sing and play without auto-tune or chirp tracks.  I do - what Prince, Janet Jackson, Madonna - DO NOT do ... I play for real.     :-)

So for fun, I have made a "probable" resumé for Jesus:
Although his father (Joseph) was a Carpenter (Jesus was a Craftsman, not just a Carpenter), without a doubt, Jesus' resumé would have been "a joke" by today's standards:
Jesus' resumé:
- Cut stones - 1 week.
- Metal work - 2 days.
Moved.
Camped out for a week - looked for work.
- Wood work - 1 day
Moved.
- Wood work - 4 days
Camped out for 2 weeks - looked for work.
Moved.
Moved constantly, homeless - for 3 years, then I was killed by those I worked for.

But we all know he was God/The Son of God, and how all that "temporary" stated above - was meaningless in the big picture.  Please keep that in mind when you read mine.  I taught Middle School in California (right before the "PC" came into mainstream).  My own highlights were: when those students to whom I said things - that would not be "PC" now, later told me that I changed their life, and were so thankful for the instruction I gave them.  One girl was suicidal - she didn't feel "Barbie" as the other girls were - so I told her that she was BEAUTIFUL, and her body was BETTER than the bimbos.  I gave her my phone number - and said "if you even THINK of doing that, phone me and I'll walk you through it".   Yes, I'd be IN JAIL in the US if I said any of that - any time in the last 30 years, but she not only did NOT self destruct, she phoned and I met her and counseled.  She ended-up a Governor, and today leads one State in amazing Leadership.  No, it wasn't ME - it was God's Holy Spirit.  But I say again, as (Apos) Paul did, back in ~40 AD, so I do now - I obey GOD'S law, and put Caesar's law in my "common sense" drawer. We are instructed to "respect Government", but when we are to openly commanded to marry homosexuals, and teach our children that not only is it fine - it's preferred. I say NO.  Or when the Mark of The Beast does come, do we obey the Government (take that mark and worship the AntiChrist [Satan]), or do we refuse (breaking the Law), and go to Heaven??  My choice is clear!!  I will break the Law.

Indeed, Caesar's law keeps me from preaching at School, or any Government offices .... but I do spread the good news when I'm allowed, and my biggest ministry - music, being a light, and then answering questions.  That's my most effective ministry.  It is not MY job to "save" - just plant, or water, or even just a HUG.  That goes farther than other ways (in my experience).

Speaking of "Caesar", anyone is welcome to copy/take anything they want use from this page!

I have yet ANOTHER complete set-up at MOVIM Church, but no photos yet.  There, I play guitar, strings, sing hamony, do the Bible readings, preach, and host "Christian movie night" every month.

Christian Worship PastorSo, some history: I grew-up in a Christian family - my Father went to King's College - after serving as a Military Chaplain.  I was Saved at age 7 - thanks to my beloved Mother (a Nurse) - and I have lived a life of music for 53 years (54 in 2023).  I have played in huge bands (popular music) - for crowds averaging 20,000 to 100,000 - as well as in small restaurants - with crowds from 1 - to 30.  Crowd size has no impact on my passion. In Church, I play for "the audience of One" (Deus: "God" in Latin).

I have also been very involved with production - I can run the sound or light board, or do it "manually" (like a "spot light") - "old-school".  I don't mind either way.  I also perform comedy - improv or comedy shows. All clean humour.

I get along well with others - mostly because I realize that - not only DOES it happen  ....  it's HEALTHY when it happens: People have differing opinions and various ideas.  So, I work as a team (no "i" in "t-e-a-m"), and you pray, and discuss, hypothesize, and then test your hypothesis. Make it fun!

I speak a fair amount of Spanish (¡Español, por favor!), that I learned from High School classes, as well as playing in Latin bands (my true love - Latin music!!):  La Creation Latina, y The Miami Sound Machine.  ¡qué viva!

And although every adolescent is well-versed in computers these days, I  know computers VERY well.  Although we have 11 Macs (7 iMacs, 4 laptops) in our home office, one is dedicated to - you guessed it - Garage Band, for MUSIC!!!   My point is that I (or my wife) can be a great help in the office .... and my wife is a Professional Office Worker!  I networked all of our systems, installed VPN, and we stay off of Facebook, WhatsApp, Google.  (see "privacy")

Christian Pastor I have "ADHD", so I have excess energy (GREAT for the stage and performing or speaking or comedy shows), so I am also good at "firing up" a crowd, leading Prayer or Small Group, and exercise classes or groups at Church. I also teach self-defense.

Church musicianI have my own home gym, and I am a FIRM believer that the body is God's temple.  I don't drink or smoke AT ALL. No drugs of any kind (not even aspirin or "Nyquil"!) - even prescriptions,  -and-  I have had Corona (SARS2) and the ø variant, so I am immune - to the hilt. See this here in more detail. I won't get "monkey pox"- because it is aside effect of the vaccine - a form of shingles from it.  But I'll keep "monkeying around"!  Ha!

They are saying:  Blood donors who are NOT vaccinated - will be worth lots of money in the upcoming future.  Maybe I'll become a millionaire - charging for my blood donations.  My slogan:
Let NATURE do it's job - not a jab from a lab!

Costa Rica musician

My Beliefs:

I believe that God (the creator) sent Yeshua (Jesus) to be our sacrifice, that anyone who believes on Him (not just in Him) - has eternal life in the place (usually called "Heaven") that God has gone to prepare for us all.  I accept that that place may be on Earth, or "in the heavens" ... it doesn't matter to me at all - I'm guessing we will be worshiping Him for thousands of years, so the "location' is irrelevant.

Although I don't have any appreciation for "streets of gold", and I think much of the Bible is metaphorical, if the streets are literally gold, that's fine ... but *I* prefer a dirt or grass path.  I like "basic" and "simple".

I am a vegetarian - borderline "vegan" if I didn't eat eggs and the occasional (but very rare) cheese.  I have nothing against what anyone eats, but I am against alcohol - I have seen way too much destruction and death from it - in my own family (2 Uncles) and in music groups I have played with.  I have no condemnation for those who do partake, but I am quick to "lovingly rebuke" anyone who gets intoxicated - especially "sloppily drunk".  The Bible clearly states: Do not be drunk (intoxicated) in any way with wine (grape of the vine).  I think that means "Don't be mind-altered at all by any chemical."

Music:
Psalms 150:
3 Praise <Him> with trumpet blast;
praise Him with harp and lyre.
4 Praise Him with tambourine and energetic movement (Riverdance);
praise Him with flute and strings.
5 Praise Him with resounding cymbals;
praise Him with clashing cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes praise God ("the Lord").

Although I realize it's figurative (it means "praise him with your all - with ANY instrument you play!!"), it's ironic that it LITERALLY states: "Praise Him with [the] trumpet blast; flute and strings.", but Churches don't accept flute, strings, or trumpet!!

My own personal taste - is Latin and Nigerian music.  Percussion, brass, strings, several-part vocal harmonies .... whooah - I'm in heaven!!

- - - - -

I also know that people do not praise God anymore with the harp, lye, piano, trumpet, tambourine, flute, or strings.  I guess we should re-interpret these now to:
3 Praise Him with lead vocalist's soulful blast;
praise Him with synth pad and electric drums.
4 Praise Him with electric things and do the funky monkey;
praise Him with lead guitar "cat solo" - RIP it!!
5 Praise Him with electronic cymbals;
praise Him with electronic clashing cymbals - hit them as hard as you can and BURN your guitars.
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord with modern things, and light the guitars on fire and crash them to pieces, and do as many pyrotechnics as you can. Take it all in - let YOU be the centre of attention [instead of God].

Well, I don't THINK so, but that's what I see at SOOOO many Churches: Self-indulgence, and the same (ego-maniac) person singing every song every week, and making every announcement.  SHARE IT, folks!! There are many other talented people at your church.
(Ha ha - all said with a "light heart". Some may think this is judging, but the Bible has far more verses about rebuking.)

I also find in very ironic that Churches won't let people play in their bands until you are there for 1 year.  Jesus didn't have a home Church - he traveled about - Preaching anywhere he could. (he did not have to be there 1 year)  Also, it's something to think about: those Churches that require a person to be there for 1 year .... yet they allow you to "give" (offerings and tithes) from day 1.  Interesting.  By the way, Jesus told the Disciples: go and make Disciples of everyone - baptizing them right away, and teaching them how to preach right away.  So let me get this straight: Jesus let people spread the good news immediately, but our modern Churches won't let a person serve until 1 year.  Is it just ME, or is something wrong with the modern-day picture??
:-)

Salvation:

Even before the creation of the earth, there was war between good and evil. Lucifer, a once-perfect and highly-regarded being, became jealous of God and wished for higher position. When God did not give him what he wanted, He became Satan. He accused God of being unfair.

Satan then led astray over 30% of heaven’s Angels, and God had to cast them out. To seek revenge on God, Satan began attacking His precious new creation: the earth. Knowing that humans were created with free will, He tempted them to rebel against God’s loving guidance.

But God knew this didn’t have to be the end of humanity’s story. He demonstrated just how much He loves us by sending His own Son (Yeshua HaMashiach - "Jesus Christ"), to die in humanity’s place, to bear the ultimate punishment sin brings (Romans 6:23, John 3:16).

However, it still comes down to choice. God never wanted forced allegiance. The option is ours. We can succumb to sin and choose to live for ourselves, or we can choose to accept Jesus’ sacrifice, follow Him, and get to know Him. And if we choose the latter, He promises to guide us with His Holy Spirit and will never forsake us.

To be "saved" one simply (not so "simple" to many!) believes on (not just IN .... ON) Yeshua (Jesus).  There is then no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:2)  Theoretically, we become "new beings" (meaning spiritual, not physical), and then we want to walk with God. Yes, we will still (and always) sin (go against God's Law), but we are forgiven of all sins.

Although many "mope" and feel "un-deserved", *I* choose to think: "We are God's children!" and walk with a bounce to my step.  Not "ego" - just to know that God will meet our needs.  Not our "wants" - just our needs.  That is why I (my wife and I) are absolutely fine - with moving to a country - where our home may be a grass hut, and serve God any way we can.  Anything on top of that (electricity, water, a Church) is gravy!

See much more about salvation - on my Translations page.

Prayer:

Although I'm fine with "Calvinism" (bowing the head reverently, and clasping hands), I don't believe this is required.  I pray as I drive, as I skate, exercise, hike... I usually look UP (instead of down) - taking in all of creation, and the air I can breathe ... and feel it as it fills my lungs ... and I praise God for creating all chemistry and physics.

I believe "constant talking to God" is essential, and I don't even let Television (we don't own one!) get in the way.  Remember: anything that gets in the way - is an idol. As a Comedian, I always joke that I "pray without ceasing. I never pray when Ceasing is here!"   Ha ha.

See more about prayer.

Why does God let bad things happen?:

Simple: God is _letting_ these [bad] things happen for a simple reason: You "fire God", and God will show you how things will turn out. And we are now seeing the chaos, destruction, division, and more. Not to mention disease, death ...

Live for God, and reap the rewards. Fire God, and suffer the consequences.

Wa are FAR richer than those impoverished in Central America, yet we complain, and say "where is God??!!"  The celebrities have far more than they need for many lifetimes, yet they are all Atheists.  Most impoverished people/countries have a steadfast love for God.  Do the math.

Intellect / Education:

I grew up when Universities still taught the purchased subjects. Although I am well aware that the Communists had "already landed", I was at the "tail end" of "what made sense".  I quit Substituting - when the "woke"movement was in it's infancy... and I'm so glad I did.  Although it's properly written / said "awakened", awaken, or "woken", I learned that the Sam Smiths, Bill Gates, Schwabs - and other self-proclaimed "intellectuals" - are some of the most fascist people on Earth.

Inever forget to ask them about The Dunning-Kruger Effect: a type of cognitive bias in which people believe they are smarter and more capable than they are. Essentially, low-ability people do not possess the skills needed to recognize their own incompetence. The combination of poor self-awareness and low cognitive ability leads them to overestimate their capabilities.  The term lends a scientific name and explanation to a problem that many people immediately recognize - that fools are blind to their own foolishness. As Charles Darwin wrote in his book The Descent of Man, "Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge." (I'm NOT a  fan of Darwin)

I always follow the above up with "Isn't calling people 'stupid' - intellectual discrimination?"  While s/he has a shocked expression, I just turn and gracefully walk away.

Philosophy, (from Greek "philosophia", meaning “love of wisdom” directly.)  One of my favourite quotes:
"Intelligence isn't knowing everything - t's the ability to challenge everything you know."

See more about disorders and mental health - on my science page.

Hymns and Church music:

Although it's been a know fact - that 80% of hymns are re-made bar/pub drinking songs, one Wheaton Graduate is very upset about that - saying it's completely false, and writes:

Martin Luther wrote his own tunes based on existing chants and folk melodies..."
https://www.patheos.com/blogs/ponderanew/2015/11/02/which-of-our-favorite-hymns-are-rewritten-bar-songs/
Although he has PROVEN everyone else right (and himself wrong!), with "folk melodies" - since they include all secular songs, as well as bar/pub songs.  Take this guy's Degree away!  (ha ha)

I agree with some coming forward: Hillsong and Bethel music.  Have your own decision:
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=don%27t+sing+hillsong

At Liberty Baptist College, they put me on "weekend grounded" - since they "caught me" listening to music that is secular.  It was trumpets and brass: "Fantaly", by Earth Wind and Fire and "In The Stone".  Although  to this day, I find these songs FAR more inspiring - than the organ they played - with "to save - a wretch - like meeeeee..." - which came from a drinking song.  I must add: to this day, all that theyconsidered "wretched SIN!" (amplifiers, drums, guitar) - they now use it.  It's normal protocol!  Now,who changed?  God? Or THEM???

When CHURCHES tell me "there is no room for trumpet or orchestra at Church, I just have them open their Bibles to Psalm 150:
Psalms 150:
3 Praise <Him> with trumpet blast;
praise Him with harp and lyre.
4 Praise Him with tambourine and energetic movement (Riverdance);
praise Him with flute and strings.
5 Praise Him with resounding cymbals;
praise Him with clashing cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes praise God ("the Lord").

Although I realize it's figurative (it means "praise him with your all - with ANY instrument you play!!"), it's ironic that it LITERALLY states: "Praise Him with [the] trumpet blast; flute and strings", but Churches don't accept flute, strings, or trumpet!!

I kindly finish it by saying "Oh, don't argue with ME - argue with God."

Also, I highly recommend you stay away from Hillsong and Bethel music:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F0pnuaoo_A

Fasting:

One of the most under-utilized commands in the Bible - is fasting.  Now, I am an athlete, so I should be fasting only temporarily.  The longest I have fasted is 5 days, 3 hours.  Only water, nothing else.  Several 3 days, and I often fast for 12-15 hours.

To get closer to Yeshua (Jesus), we need to often get away from all distractions, and let our earthly body "clean out".  As it is, we are created for occasional starvation, and fasting helps get rid of toxins and free radicals.  It also lets us "concentrate" on spiritual growth.  Those who have fasted for extended periods will understand this right away.  You really focus and are able to reach that spiritual space with our Creator. And your are fatigued, so you talk to God (pray).

A note I hear often: Moses, Yeshua and others fasted for 40 days.  Although THEY WERE SPIRITUALLY STRENGTHENED, the original Greek does NOT mention the days - Man added that! - all hunger striking people over the last 200 years - have died within 30 days.  The record for sleep deprivation is 8 days - resulting in death.

The body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit - treat it WELL, not badly.  There is no time set in the Bible, except for a "sundown to sundown" (24 hours) - ironically, the same day as "The Feast', so everyone georged themselves, then didn't eat for 24 hours.  Oh - kay.   I fast occasionally, the most I have gone is 4 complete days - only water.  But I feel much closer to God when I am alert, and cognatitive - not when I'm in hunger pains.  To me, this is about "focus".  I feel more "focus"since we disconnected the Television!  I urge everyone to get off FaceBook, and those electronic distractions - which HAVE become IDOLS.

Women Pastors:

Speaking of "gender", I have heard many Churches disallow women as Pastors.  I wonder if they realize:  The first sermon ever preached after Yeshua arose - was by Mary Magdalene (a Woman - in case you didn't get the connection   :-)

Some of the best sermons I have ever heard have been by women - one was by a University Student [Delaney, at Crosspointe]!!  Others have been by Oyin, at the Nigerian Church: RCCG Christ Church.

Although Matthew 11:15 states: "Whoever has ears, let them hear",  _I_  would add: "Whoever has the Gospel to say, let them (him/her) speak!  Although, the "great commission" does not state "MEN ONLY, go unto all the world and preach the gospel"

I also find it very  - the very ones who claim to be "for women's rights" - are the very ones who allow MEN to compete in women's sports (I find this VERY disturbing!), and who want women NOT to be Preachers.  And most of them are Atheists - hating Christians for zealously spreading their beliefs - - while they zealously spread their beliefs.

NOTE: In true translation, "man" was originally "human", or "one".  A verse stating "a man may say ..."- was originally "one may say...".  This is "anthropos" in the Greek, and "adam" in Hebrew.

See my section on women in the Church!  Women will LOVE this!!

Polygamy (multiple partners)

First, some terminology: What’s called “polygamy” occurs in 2 ways.
  1. “Polyandry” means one woman with more than one husband, a rare form found among, for instance, some Buddhists in Tibet where the husbands are commonly brothers.
  2. The familiar form technically named “polygyny” is one man with more than one wife. “Bigamy” applies when civil law makes plural marriages a crime.  All of that needs to be distinguished from modern “polyamory,” namely multiple and consensual sexual ties with various gender configurations minus marriage. These range from “free love” to “open” relationships to formalized temporary or permanent sexual groupings. Notably, this movement is now acceptable within one U.S. religion. Unitarian Universalists for Polyamory Awareness is officially recognized as a “related” organization of that denomination serving members who support and promote such a sexual identity.
Polygamy has been opposed by Christianity throughout history but exists without dispute in lands dominated by the world’s second-largest religion, Islam. Most other nations make it a criminal offence. The United Nations Human Rights Commission expresses moral abhorrence and urges abolition, arguing that legal polygamy violates “the dignity of women.”

Indigenous religion that involves polygamy continues in some sectors of Africa. South Africa allows it not only for the Muslim minority but for those who maintain their traditional cultures, for example former President Jacob Zuma of the Zulu people, who has four wives. Modern India forbids polygamy even though it was part of Hindu tradition, but similarly allows it for Muslims.

Multiple marriages were as ancient as monogamy, and particularly for men with power and wealth. Surviving inscriptions showing the existence of the practice in mideastern Mesopotamia and Assyria date back to around 2000 B.C.  That’s the same general time frame for Abraham (the spiritual forefather of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), who took three wives (see Genesis 16:1, 16:3, 25:1).  Also, Jacob, Moses, and King David were among subsequent biblical polygamists. King Solomon over-did things, taking 700 wives (I Kings 11:3). With “Levirate marriage” cases (see Deuteronomy 25:5-10): an already married man was directed to also marry his sister-in-law if the brother died and the widow had no son to support her.

In subsequent Jewish history, polygamy was tolerated but never widespread, waned, and then flatly prohibited a thousand years ago by the great medieval sage Gershom ben Judah, a.k.a. Rabbeinu Gershom. His policy thereafter governed Europe’s Ashkenazi branch while polygamy persisted among mideastern Sephardic Jews.

Plural marriage was permitted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints between 1852 and 1890. Joseph Smith, founder of the LDS Church, is believed to have married 28 wives, while Brigham Young, the church’s second president, married 51 women and fathered 56 children.

Today, the LDS Church strictly prohibits polygamy, says Elder Robert J. Dudfield, Associate Area Director in the Pacific Area Public Affairs Office of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Socond, my beliefs: I do NOT agree with polygamy.  I do not agree with havintg multiple erotic partners.  How can one (a person) say "I love you with ALL ..." - when  they say the same to even one more ... much less more than that. It's logically impossible.

A note for the urgent problem of the day: Homosexuality in Church:
If your Church displays the "Pride" flag, you may as well be proudly waving the Satanic flag, the ISIS flag, or the "Nuclear" flag, or "Murderers for Christ" - they are all the same in God's eyes,  Love the PERSON; HATE the sin.  ENCOURAGING homosexuals or Trans into your Church - to GET SAVVED - is fine, but to "Come as you are and keep doing your practice" is NOT.

Religion:

If I had a dime for every time I heard "If we wanted to end all wars, outlaw all religion!"
1) they are all completely wrong - although many wars are over religion, most are over land, control (money)...
2) they dont realize that their antithesis (Atheism) is a religion!  (according to the WHO guidelines and definition. Argue with them, not with me.)

3) We all know all too well that the Uxraine/Russian war is not over religion.  It is a most wars are: over land, therefore  power /money.  Maybe we should outlaw land?  Money?
4) They don't realive that they are the ones who are "on a mision" and "evangelizing"!!  They do it far more than the religious "zealots" at whom they point a finger!

I honestly agree with Acts:  everyone sold their land, and gave it all to their "commune" - where they all lived and shared everything, and had equal, and nobody owned anything - it was all of and for the commune.  Oh, I would live in a commune right away. (given that everyone worked and was productive. No "entitlement" or laziness.  Sure, you want to "own" your own toothbrush, undergarments, and musical instruments.  Comunal living is what Jesus and the Deciples did during his ministry.  And you know what?  None of them (including Yeshua) had any formal Schooling - none were graduates from seminary - and we are all commanded to "go unto the world and preach the gospel".  We are all Pastors, and with God's endorsement.

For fun, see The Diciples' real names...

A Pastor on voting - ALL Christians should see this!

Fighting:

According to science, sadism is defined as: Deriving pleasure from humiliating or causing physical or psychological pain to others.

I will just stop there and let everyone ponder that. I'm very sorry if I hurt feelings or insulted anyone.  Hopefully I won't be "crucified" by readers, for saying "verily" [the truth].    :-)

Although I am a fan of every girl taking Krav Maga ("KRAHV mə-GAH"); Hebrew: קרב מגע, ('contact combat'), an Israeli martial art., here is my political stances on fighting.

Suicide:

I believe that it is NOT automatic that someone who commits suicide - is not saved, or loses salvation.  Suicide is the product of emotional and mental anguish and not necessarily a spiritual deficiency. This is an old medieval belief that has no roots in biblical Christianity. The truth is, we do not know, so we must keep an open mind and trust that God knew what the person’s condition was prior to committing this act.  People do not go to she'ol simply because they are justified, due to the death of Christ for them, which pays for all their sins. The moment they believe in Christ they move from death to life. Even this faith is a gift of God and not a result of good works. No particular sin they commit after conversion can damn them to hell (Romans 5:1-11).

Individuals who commit suicide often have been struggling with serious problems. Taking one’s life isn’t the right way to deal with any trial, but the people who do are more than likely not thinking clearly. Therefore, suicide does not automatically damn them to hell, but could be a sign of a person not thinking clearly. The Bible teaches that what determines whether a person goes to heaven or hell is whether they trust in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Faith in Christ changes us and gives us a new perspective in life. This is not perfect but substantial (Eph.2:4-9). So the only question is if a person’s suicide was because they did not really know Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. That is what matters when talking about heaven or hell.

The issue then is always the same. Does a person have faith in Christ and therefore their sins are paid by the sacrifice of Christ, or do they not have faith in Christ and therefore must pay for all their own sins including suicide? Perhaps some are quick to judge and condemn people who take their own lives. But we should avoid the inclination to oversimplify this tragic type of death.

Two Christian apologists have offered their thoughts on whether Christians who die by suicide go to Heaven or Hell when they die.  Former atheist Jonathan Noyes, now a Christian author and apologist, was joined by professor and apologist Sean McDowell - to address the question, "Is suicide seen as unforgivable in the Eyes of God?"

Both agreed that the Bible suggests suicide doesn't lead to damnation for Christians, and both agreed that "the manner in which someone dies has no determination on their final [eternal] destination."  The duo emphasized God's grace to a broken humanity, alluding to Ephesians 2:8: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

"If an atheist dies by suicide, they go to Hell - not because of their suicide, but because of their lack of trust in Jesus in life. The same is true for Christians," said Noyes, "A Christian who dies by suicide goes to Heaven because they're Christian."  "The fundamental component of being a Christian is that you place your hope [and] your faith in Jesus. You 'confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that He has been raised from the dead.'"  In the same way God can forgive other sins, Noyes and McDowell contend that God can also forgive suicide for professing Christians.

"I'm a Christian. I know who Jesus is. I have a fantastic relationship with God.  And if I go outside the bounds of my marriage, if I cheat on my wife, am I still saved? Yes, because I am not saved by my works; That means I don't lose my salvation by my works. … Well, the same is true for suicide," Noyes pointed out.  "Even if I die in the middle of having an affair, I'm still saved. Repentance is a gift that's given to us by God, not a work that we must do to be saved by God. … It's like faith. Faith is a gift; so is repentance."

McDowell addressed a related point commonly used to argue that Christians who die by suicide don't go to Heaven because they didn't have a chance to repent after they died.  "Clearly, it's a final act and there's no time to repent. Even if you say beforehand, 'hey, forgive me for what I'm about to do,' [the apology to God] is still happening [before the act is committed]. And you could still wonder if somebody understands the forgiveness they're asking for before they do it," McDowell said of the rationale behind the argument.  But he rejected this idea, arguing that Christians who don't repent for every sin they did before they die will not be damned because they are already saved by "faith through grace."

McDowell added that it would be a "paralyzing way to live" if a "Christian's salvation was contingent upon their repentance."  "I'm not living in this constant give-and-take with God; that if I tell a lie, I lose my salvation, until I ask for repentance, or if I have a lustful thought, I lose salvation, until I ask for repentance. … That doesn't reflect the reality of Jesus when He says: 'My burden is light.'"  Noyes said that if God made repentance a requirement for every believer for them to gain entry into Heaven, noone would make the cut.

PhD (Doctorate)

I have respect for those EARNING their Doctorates (assumintg it's not from a "woke" University), but with the last 2 decades - PhDs being handed out like ice cream - one went to Greta Thunberg - in  Theology.  Greta did not even know what "theology" meant.  Bill Cosby also got an honorary PhD, and most Lefties are getting these, and "Sir" Knighting - even though they just make some evil songs.  It's gotten WAY past "uninteristing".  So therefore, *I* have a PhD - from SHN University.  Since I know more than most all PhDs I know - even those on-line, and Dr Michael Yosef - I have earned it.  But I don't tell that to people - it's a joke here on-line.
* SHN is my joke of  mis-spelled "School of Hard Knocks".

Vegetarian

I would encourage everyone to read about "Dominion" (politically / translations] in Genesis. Dominion, by the way, means "loving management".  Does the above sound like "loving" to you??  Now pretend they are [your] children (!!!!!)  You don't even want to think about that, right?

Dominion - from the Aramaic translation:
"If a person is found worthy, s/he has dominion over the animals. If s/he is not found worthy, s/he becomes subservient before them, and the animals rule over that person."

https://www.bibletools.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/Topical.show/RTD/cgg/ID/2163/Dominion-over-Animals.htm

Pastor Phil, a vegetarian

Now you know another reason I am a vegetarian.   :-)
Yet another Bible source:
Daniel 1:5-19 (but especially v12)
Daniel's men ate only water and vegetables.  The King's men ate meat and wine. Daniel's men far out-performed the King's men!  (Alcohol is toxic and meat has many free radicals in it.)
https://www.esseneschool.com/lessons/the-essene/only-vegetables/  [web link]

Daniel 1:8
"he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself."
וַיְבַקֵּשׁ֙ מִשַּׂ֣ר הַסָּרִיסִ֔ים יִתְגָּאָֽל׃
Literally means: "to seek     chief/official/captain     eunuch [officer, and yes, it's redundant]      to defile"
"He", "not" was added' as well as "permission from the", and "himself" - were all added.  And don't forget - the last 3 chapters of Daniel were stricken - it's now part of the Apocrypha.  See many (hundreds) of translation errors, verses taken out of context.

Although it makes me question the "God saw that it was good"**, yet instructs "do not eat the unclean animal", I "go with it".
**  As mentioned on my "Translations" page, "the word for "good" actually means "pleasant/acceptable".

I had the same experience when I stopped eating meat. I was running feet races, and riding bike races, and my race times got better when I stopped eating meat - even though I was age 33 - three years after they say your body slows down.
Me racing Me racing

As you can see - with the "Vegetaian henter wall mounts", I love "joking" about my diet, and my friends wear T-shirts about joking - like "If God wanted us to be vegetaians, He would have made broccoli fun to shoot at."
I love 'em!

A quick addition - regarding "gluten-free":
Gluten Intolerance
Although I have known SEVERAL families who emphatically say "If we weren't gluten-free, our body would be in SHOCK!"  Just last month (Aug 2022), the last of those families went back to gluten, and not ONE of those families had any adverse reactions/effects at all .... except the joy of the children to "eat tasty again!"

So, these "specialists" were all wrong.  If gluten was so bad, wouldn't the Bible have mentioned it?   Yes, "unleavened bread' meant "a flat, thin bread that is made without any leavening agents (like yeast)."  It is also called “matzo” or “matzah” in Hebrew.

I see that same "quality" of "slavery" - with people - on animals.  Cattle, clearly, but pigs, chickens, fish ...   even sport fishing - people don't *care* about the lives of animals - it's all for a wall mount and quick money.  My Jewish ancestors always said "When we loose the respect and dominion of animals, we will fall."  We have.  Not only do we have zero dominion over animals, we don't even care about girls being abducted.  Heck, we even kill our offspring!!!!  We call it "choice".  We are one screwed-up species!

Caffeine:
Many claim that "coffee is GOOD for you!"  As with the vaccine, the Doctors who were PAID to tell/sell Patients on taking the vaccine - are doing the same with coffee.

Metric:

Mitric usage in USAI fully support and agree with metric in the USA and all countries.  See much, much more on my metric page.  For more information about how your entitycan use science (Metric) and stop using Britain's King (feet, pounds'gallons, inches), visit The US Metric Association (USMA) [web link]

I am:
176 cm high
75.4 kg
I burn about 3,700 calories (3.7 liters) per day.  Why don't Americans use "BTU"? Because they changed to metric in the 1930's (see Martin Luther King's autopsy report below) and are now used to it.  Well, there you go!  See a list on how America uses metric, and has for a long time - but doesn't even realize it!  Hint: the first number on your car tire is metric. You use "calorie"for energy.  Your medications are in metric.  Many more on that list...

Church Pastor

And finally, my resumé... (Downlead the PDF here)

Objective:
A position at a Church - that will utilize my musical gifts. Whether a leading role (Music Pastor/Minister), or a musician. I am quite comfortable in any position - I am here to serve.

Qualifications: 46 years of experience in performing Church music. No "ego", and no crowd is too large - or too small.

Key strengths:
• Energetic and production-conscious
• Meticulous attention to detail and skill of observation
• Communicate effectively and professionally with people at all levels
• I play “in tune”!

Instruments Played:  (In order of proficiency)
• Saxophone:  Alto and soprano.  I Trademarked “Pyro Sax” - where I blow fire out of my sax - in 1984.  In 1977, I invented "double tonguing" on the sax and clarinet.  They said it "couldn't be done".  Although I did teach one guy at Liberty Baptist College, and he took the credit ... I teach noone else now.
• Flute:  I play Latin, Jazz, Classical, and the “airy, vocal” style of “Jethtro Tull”.
• Clarinet:  Great for Christmas concerts. Ialso use it for my "Nerd" singing telegrams.
• Bass guitar:  I play “supportive” style (basic, hold the beat), as well as “slap” style.
• Guitar:  I play bar cords, Jazz (muted and picking), and rhythm and Classical styles.
• Drums:  With a good “meter”, many have called me “The Human Metronome”.  I stay on beat, play with dynamics, and know when to “hold-off” or “hit it hard”.
• Pecussion (chimes, woodblocks, claves, shakers, vibra-slap ... I have over 20 percussion instruments that I play every week.
• Keyboard:  I use a USB/MIDI controller to “trigger” my iMac and Powerbook (via GarageBand). It has thousands of modern sounds, but I can bring up those 80’s sounds when needed - including DX7 sounds- through "DEXXED", software that makes your Mac a Yamaha DX7.
• Vocals:  I prefer singing harmony - there are enough that want to sing “lead”. I sing the 3 or 5 (commonly called "third or fifth", but I don't use ordinals) harmony part - as the music (or Director) calls for.
• Impersonations:  I perform Santa, when needed. I also have been told I resemble Michael Keaton, so I perform a friendly “Beetlejuice”, and other “singing telegrams”: Elvis, Beatles, Nerd, Indiana Jones, Tarzan, Mariachi guy. Again, this is what I do for a living - and have for years.

musician, costa ricaFormal Post Education:
  • Palm Beach Junior College, West Palm Beach, Florida - Music
  • Liberty Baptist College (now "Liberty University"), Lynchburg, Virginia - Music, Liberal Arts
  • Diablo Vally College, Concord, California - AC Electrical and DC Electronics

In closing, I have either "turned you off", or my skills and beliefs/stances sound attractive / intriguing to you. I welcome any further communique with your Church. ; I am a fun-loving guy, so let's chat openly and honestly. As a Musician for 52 years, I have experienced far more "rejection" than "acceptance" (as Jesus and the Diciples also experienced), so I am not bothered at all by "directness" or "constructive criticism". "Rebuking" is encouraged - even commanded in the Bible: 1 Tim. 5:1-10 and 1 Timothy 5:20, Luke 17:3, Titus 1:13. Even Proverbs https://s3.eu-central-1.wasabisys.com/lib-backup/bx_videos_media_resized/n/nr/nre/nrenkh4v9khu8cwcymdykd3vxtpqzcq6.mp49:8
Encourage each other:
Ephesians 6:10-18
1 Corinthians 1:9  (I say "One Corinthians")
Acts 9:27
Acts 13:13; 15:39
John 13:34-35
Hebrews 12:5
Hebrews 3:13
1 Thessalonians 5:11  (I say "One Thessalonians")
